- 3 years of experience in sewer and water construction
- 3 years of experience in excavation and backfill of building
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Experience in the proper use of pipe lasers, rotating lasers, and survey equipment.
- Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications for the project
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to problem solve, and stay focused in high pressure situations.
- Ability to understand and communicate company safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety.
- Completion of site paperwork on a daily basis and submit to office (Timesheets, Tailgate meetings, as-builts, etc.)
- Responsible for quality control for all workmanship of pipe and utility structure installation
- Direct daily work for the crew; providing clear direction and expectations
- Ability to keep operators and pipe personnel to task
- Documentation of ALL site activity
- Coordinate any possible subcontractors on site.
- Load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment and construction material
- Locate and expose utilities as required
- Moves tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work areas
- Excavates, backfills and compacts sub grade
- Moves and levels earth using shovels and rakes
- Practices workplace safety
- Ability to run small equipment such as: quick cut saw, packer, jumping jack, boring machine
- Able to direct Hoe Operator in excavating correct elevations
- Able to install PVC, Concrete, HDPE Piping material as well as install Manholes, Catch Basins, etc at the design grade and elevations as required.
- Ensure that the pipe is “on Grade” and installed properly
- To perform all additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Ensure that all installed materials are properly bedded.

- Operate Heavy equipment such as but not limited to (backhoe, excavators, skidsteer, mini excavator, roller)
- Minimum 3 years experience in water and sewer
- Must be familiar with civil construction
- Must be able to perform physical work and able to lift 50LBS and above
- To perform all additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, maps, engineering drawings and specifications
- Good communication skills
- A valid driver’s license
- Practices workplace safety
- Basic knowledge of MOL standards on open excavations and trenching
- Housekeeping and basic maintenance of equipment

- Be over the age of 25
- Minimum 3 years verifiable experience driving a dump truck
- Being familiar with Ottawa quarries and dump sites is considered to be a great asset.
- Performing work as instructed from the Foreman or Operations Manager
- Operating heavy construction equipment to move, load or unload materials
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Assist trucks and delivery drivers to load and unload vehicles
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Perform minor repairs to equipment
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Communicating any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
- A valid driver’s license
